I started at T&B Contractors as a multi trade operative but was very quickly promoted to working foreman. I stayed in this role for a number of years in the special works division which involved working in schools, children centre's & hospitals to name a few clients.I was again promoted to site manager & transferred into the city works division which worked mainly in London, this was a vast change with the increase of pace from receiving the order for a project to setting up on site & getting the project underway, & also a big increase in project size.During my time in City Works I under took projects at Chiswick town hall which involved stone repair works to the facade which was grade 1 listed & replacing the lead roof & flashing to most of the building.My most challenging project was to demolish a whole ward in Hammersmith hospital ready to construct 2 cardiac catheter wards for Kings college. This project was under taken whilst the hospital was fully functional with the operating theatre's directly aove the site, x-ray to one side & heart surgery to the other. This was a challenging but very rewarding project that was delivered to a high standard using unique products to construct the walls to protect against radiation.The project was finished on schedule & we managed to do this including all the changes to the specification & lay out changes.Whilst at T&B my knowledge of construction became 2nd to none due to the constant training courses we were placed on. Health & safety is always a major factor in the construction industry but my awareness was always kept up to date with the latest regulations by attending training courses & embarking the SMSTS course.I am well versed in site management, procurement, project programming, short term & long term planning, health & safety, quality control. Above all I know how to get a project done on time & to a very high standard.
