Designed and embedded a Procurement and Contract Management function for a £3.5bn pa Defence organisation (newly formed Organisation within MOD). Led Departmental long term strategy build to enable the development of a new infrastructure supplybase, driving approvals processes at very senior levels within MOD and Government.Lead the negotiation of a £3bn (3 year) contract modernisation for a key Strategic Defence Supplier to move to outcome focused incentivisation and controls (one of the largest Single Source Suppliers across UK Government). Delivered vastly improved performance management, strong legislation compliance and significant savings in a >20 year legacy relationship.Gained funding for enduring Commercial Strategy that upskills the organisation, builds capability and capacity and maintaining our seat at the table whilst taking the best of MOD Commercial. This enables us to drive efficiencies in a set of long standing relationships in a highly classified monopolistic environment. Appointed as the Cultural development lead as part of the MOD Commercial transformation plan, focused on circa 2500 staff.December 2019: Awarded the Minister for Defence Acquisition award for Procurement excellence following the successful execution of a key Defence project.

Responsible for the transformation of Global Category teams in a very complex decentralised environment. The Procurement scope includes all Packaging and Excipient Categories. Reporting to the SVP of Direct Materials I have Global accountability for >$1bn spend, 130k SKUs and >2000 Suppliers across 87 Manufacturing and 25 R&D Facilities.Key Achievements: - Created and executed a Global Procurement Network to transform the value Global Procurement deliver. Very few traditional levers existed due to the Business structure and Supplybase complexity.- Focusing on Stakeholder Management, Capability Development and Strategy Excellence, moved Categories from local, low value transactional individuals to Global Business Partners.- Consistently beating savings targets, including delivering double the expected target, no recalls due to Procurement and built a technology innovation programme to support R&D future needs.- Responsible for representing Global Operations on the Corporate Rebrand Board. Reporting to 2 Executive Committee Members to drive the Product elements of the Global re-brand to deliver a cost neutral Global Product change programme.- Defined a process to reduce Specification complexity to enable faster & cost-effective Product Launches.- Developed a high performing Team of Category Heads and support staff. This included eliminating roles, moving People to more suitable positions and focusing on Process and Capability development.- Helped design and execute the Global Procurement transformation through organisation and Process redesign, to drive better alignment and execution across Procurement functions.- Developed multiple cross Category initiatives to exploit Total Teva spend.
