I don't really know if this is the right place to post this.... but here goes anyway!:I have recently started a new enterprise to keep me occupied as I enter old age:I host Historic Walks which are called the "USHER HISTORIC WALKS". They commence from outside Usher Hall, which was a gift from my family to the City, at 1000hrs and 1400hrs. They last, in theory only, for two hours but more often take up to three hours (at no extra charge). Included in the price of £20.00 per person is entry into St Giles Cathedral and the National Gallery of Scotland where Walkers can view painting by such titans as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael (my favourite), Titian and Rembrandt amongst many others. Also included in the price is a drink in an old Edinburgh Coffee or Public House.There is no other tour activity which matches my Walks on value for money. Any reader of this could be forgiven for thinking: "Well he would say that, wouldn't he". Well, I have said it and would not have said it if I didn't believe it. As far as I am concerned there are too many tourist activities in Edinburgh which are simply rather poor street theatre which do nothing for the city.
