Was granted civic leave by Microsoft to serve as a Data Scientist and Software Developer Manager at the Office of the Secretary of Defense working on a number of data driven initiatives to improve the way DoD utilizes resources to achieve its goals. Directed Development and Engineering for 60+ engineers working in Advana, the primary repository for enterprise data and analytics at the DoD. Focused on DevSecOps, platform health, and culture shift from a bunch of individual contributors to collaborators building scalable software.Cofounder and colead of Gamechanger where I helped prototype a text ingestion platform eventually becoming a 25+ engineer effort to produce a set of generalizable NLP analytics, search, and visualization capabilities built off of popular open source capabilities architected to scale across federal, state government and industry. This prototype was funded by the JAIC, has been cited by the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence and has been adopted by five core use cases, with 30+ additional use cases where our generalizable technology was applied.

Azure Customer Growth and Analytics - The team was responsible for growing usage of Azure services by ingesting 1st/2nd/3rd party data sources to leverage Data Science and Engineering to make better business decisions and improve the sales funnel. My job was to work with Data Scientists and Applied Research Scientists to implement, deploy, manage and measure machine learning models and telemetry signals at Azure scale.

As part of the Microsoft Windows Reliability team and Platform Health Organization, I architected and coded an end-to-end analytics platform that allowed for the measurement of a variety of mean time to (MTT) KPIs for the bug life-cycle on the one-billion plus Windows devices. I additionally built a software tool responsible for assigning initial team blame to new bugs discovered in Windows OS code or Windows Application code, which was run on the order of tens of thousands of times per day. Helped build a machine learning and natural language processing pipeline that sought to detect facts inside legal testimony. Company was sold, resulting in the sale of my shares and intellectual property.

I wrote code and implemented unsupervised machine learning algorithms for a stealth, venture backed startup funded by Google Ventures and Kleiner Perkins. My work required me to design and iterate on the specification of a feature with the product team, develop a prototyping environment with API support that communicates to an Objective C application, iterate on machine learning clustering algorithms and role out an application to the company.
