As Head of Global student recruitment at Falmouth University I developed and delivered the University’s global recruitment strategy – across all levels of provision and across all markets and territories. Working with a team of recruitment specialists as part of Falmouth's Brand Communications team I led extensive and varied recruitment activities. I developed the University’s Access agreement and widening participation activity to contribute to institutional objectives. I supported the development of partnerships, in conjunction with our academic schools, with other educational establishments – regionally, nationally and internationally, and directed the international and EU student recruitment effort.I engaged in research on keys to successful partnerships and the parallels between WP and International partnerships.

As Head of the International Office I played a lead role to devise & implement the University’s Internationalisation strategy. I was responsible for marketing to and recruitment of international students and coordinating the establishment and management of the University’s international partnerships. I over-saw study abroad by students, study and work placements within the Erasmus programme and the international mobility of staff into and out of Falmouth University. I inputted to curriculum internationalisation and course development. I engaged in study and research on the link between curriculum development and multiculturalism, and the value of collaboration across borders in higher education. With a background in economics and international relations, I have 19 years of experience in international education. I worked for the Kochi board of education in Japan, leading curriculum development with an international orientation in schools between 2002 – 04. Then coordinated international programs for Brown University in the USA between 2004 – 07, with responsibility for programs in India, Japan and Italy. I coordinated the Visiting Scholar programme at Brown University to bring in scholars from international partner institutions and was an exchange student at the University of Maryland.
