30 years experience working in the offshore oil & gas industry, with the last 1 year working on UK operated assets (FPSOs) and previous 4 years on new build FPSO engineering projects working in design office and shipyard environments.Areas of past experience range from design, construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning various types of measurement & control instrumentation and low voltage electrical equipment. Typical checks have included bump tests of detectors and the calibrations of field instrument transmitters. More specifically for Hazardous Areas, the visual, close and detailed inspection ATEX (electrical / non electrical) equipment and IS circuits to confirm design requirements. The witness testing of ESD and Process Control systems from initiators through to the final control elements. Likewise, checking the of interfaces with F&G detection, ventilation and automatic fire protection equipment. e.g. Firewater Deluge / Foam and Sprinkler Systems.Management of findings and comments raised by the ICP (Verifier) during SECE verification and PFEER specified plant examinations to confirm the initial and continued suitably and effective implementation of associated assurance activities and/or in some cases design appraisal comments raised against the classification society rules. Demonstration of compliance with UK relevant statutory provisions and checking for conformity with EU directives and effectiveness of technical assurance standards applied.More recently, taking company oversight on FPSO new build projects. Facilitating EPC coordination of Written Examination Scheme activities.Coordination of 3rd party inspections and checking of reports issued. Review of vendor provided certification for materials & components. Client inspection and witness testing at manufacturers for bespoke and packaged equipment, when required.
