SAP Central finance is a relatively new module of SAP, built specifically to automate and centralise finance processes. The programme was started in Nestle mid-2020 and is expected to change some of the work of all 11,000 finance and control employees in Nestle.

My product had two parts: the process to set budgets and control IT spend; and the process to attribute that cost to the IT products and thereby better understand and manage the spend.

The Phenix programme was a wall to wall ERP, e-commerce, retail and call centre solution implementation programme for Nespresso with a budget of CHF350M.

Key achievements* Delivered a set of Net Net Sales reports that supported the transition of Nestle to an IFRS definition of revenue, including KPI, sales and profitability reports.* Built three working capital tools that supported the business objective of reducing working capital used in Nestle which achieved a CHF7BN saving.* Standardised and automated group reporting submissions saving at least 2,000 person-days per year, and enabling the transfer of around 30,000 person days per year to shared service centres.* Defined the global template for planning and control solutions.* Enabled the Nestle Philippine market to complete their period end close activities in the five-day target, removing 15 days from their close.* Identified and found solutions the critical requirements blocking the Nestle Waters North America Globe go-live, enabling a successful and on-time go-live.Key activities* Led a team of 12 people, split between internal staff members and contractors, identifying long and short-term resource and skill needs, setting objectives and coaching team members.* Participated in talent reviews, using succession planning to motivate high performing employees.* Performed IT projects including collection and prioritisation of requirements, building and executing test plans, determining cutover needs and executing go-lives.* Managed the functional network for planning and controlling across the five sites for Nestle IT.In this role, I owned the global IT solutions for financial planning, controlling and consolidation.
