I advise businesses, financial institutions and governments on decarbonisation strategies and the impacts of known and emerging climate change risks and opportunities to develop climate-resilient companies, economies and societies. My areas of focus include: - TCFD incl strategy, scenario planning and disclosure preparation - Climate transition plans, adaptation reporting and just transition - Net Zero and decarbonisation targets, strategy, roadmap and implementation - Climate transformation incl operating model design, process mapping and controls - Climate governance, board training, education and capacity building - Carbon accounting incl financed emissions (GHG Protocol/PCAF), science-based target setting (SBTi) and reporting - Nature and biodiversity, incl TNFD, LEAP assessment and disclosure preparation - UK, EU, US and international climate regulation and standards incl. ISSB, NZAOA, NZAMI, NZIA - helping businesses from C-suite down design and implement climate and ESG transformation programmes to preserve and create value in the Net Zero world, navigating complex business priorities and human dynamics along the way. I am passionate about reimagining business, sustainability leadership, thoughtful regulation and collaborations to advance the low carbon transition. In addition to my practice, I have been Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) United Kingdom Energy and Environment Committee, Expert Reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), and Member of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Technology Executive Committee Taskforce on Enabling Environment and Capacity Building. In these roles, I combined my market insight, technical knowledge and networks to help a broad range of stakeholders take constructive action on climate change. Previously, I worked for top-tier US and Australian consulting and law firms, at the University of Cambridge, and with the UNFCCC Secretariat during the initial development of the Paris Agreement. I have also published book chapters and award-winning articles on international energy and climate law and policy and contributed to major international reports. I lecture and speak regularly on business, policy, law and leadership related to sustainability, disputes, low carbon and climate change.
