Alexandra Stuart is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and completed her Master’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy at Memorial University of Newfoundland, studying under Timothy Steeves. She completed her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, studying with Leon Harshenin, and has enjoyed a private piano studio of a few students for seven years. In addition to working with her private students, Alexandra currently teaches group piano at Project Grace After School Program in St. John's, Newfoundland. She has a passion for teaching students who are not typical learners, and has taught a variety of adult students, university students, and students who have learning disabilities. Her teaching style is fairly relaxed and allows for exploration and critical thinking, while encouraging healthy playing posture. In addition to piano, Alix also plays jazz and classical trombone, and sings in church choirs.
