About Stuart Barnard Msc

A highly experienced Quality & Business Improvement Professional with a proven track record of success in driving continuous improvement in quality and process performance across a wide range of industries using Lean & Six Sigma tools. Passionate about developing and embedding skills and ways of working to ensure business success including transformation of costs, revenue and customer experience. Determined and commercially aware, seeking to secure a challenging Quality Manager or Continuous Improvement Manager role with a progressive organisation.I learnt about lean and six sigma whilst completing my Diploma in Quality Assurance with the Chartered Quality Institute working at O-I Manufacturing, it was there I became and trained as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and started to see how important and influential quality and performance improvement could be to improving our resourcefulness. I then went completed a Masters Degree in Strategic Quality Management with Portsmouth University. Since then the understanding of these philosophies has deepened, seeing how each small improvement joins up to the bigger picture to improve organisational efficiencies through improved resourcefulness. I love learning, continual learning is something I pursue be it through academic courses, short online videos or the ever present and continuous discovery of oneself. Being a kinaesthetic learner, one of the best ways to learn is to simply give it a go, be it for myself but also vitally important in the workplace is to just do that, try something. A new approach or a new way of working, a simple but small change is better than no change at all, as there will be no learning. When I’m not working you can usually find me throwing battle ropes around in an attempt to keep a fitness level where my son can’t run too many rings around me! Getting in touch with nature, normally through a good hike, is such a great way to clear the head, so is the occasional gin and tonic. Creating sustainable furniture from reclaimed materials giving them a new lease of life is another past time of mine which works hand in hand with redecorating the house.
