I created websites for clients from many different fields working with colleagues who would design the site before handing it over for me to develop. The role involved communicating with the client to provide direction in how they wanted the site to function and to provide content. Each site was built on a content management system (Perch, WordPress, Shopify), and I would deliver training at the end of each project to explain how they can update the content when necessary.

I was responsible for creating an Excel subscription management system, setup in a database layout with an emphasis on efficiency; no data duplication and built-in analysis reports. This was to replace the multiple spreadsheets currently being used with no single master data source and conflicting information leading to uncertainty and lack of confidence in the data.The Training Gateway relied on tenders and the website on which they are accessed by clients. I was tasked with managing the website content, including checking that information, links and logos were up-to-date. I also uploaded tenders to the website, categorising them and re-writing them to a concise form.

As a member of the Wash Wipe core team my role was to work across platforms, not on any one specific vehicle. My responsibilities included:- Leading the Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) covering front and rear wiper systems, and front, rear and headlamp wash systems.- Leading a rewrite in the DFMEA due to a need for more structure with the rapid expansion of the company as I joined bringing new best practices and advances in technology.- Author and reviewer of the wash wipe standards- Author of the electrical interface specification document, designed to improve and formalise the communication between body engineering and electrical engineering, stating more clearly and in more depth the wash wipe function and behaviour.- Creator of development tools including: - Wiper Blade Velocity Calculator - calculating the velocity of any part of the wiper blades at any instance in the wipe arc - Wiper Speed Optimiser - calculating the optimum wiping speed for any given rainfall rate and vehicle speed combination - Wiper Motor & Linkage Kineatics Developer - torque and velocity calculations to determine the possibilities/limitations of available motors to deliver the required kinematics- Bench-marking of competitor vehicles: writing up the test procedure, carrying out an measurement system analysis (MSA) study to ensure a robust method, conducting the tests, recording and analysing the data.- Leading expert in Tekscan wiper blade pressure distribution measurement tool- Camera cleaning strategy input- Communication with suppliers for data/information, input of knowledge for our standardsAs a graduate engineer I had several objectives to complete as part of the graduate scheme. These included:- Manufacturing Placement- Engineering Placement (X2)- Cross-functional PlacementI left JLR at the end of August 2016 to get married and make the move back up north to York to be with my wife near our families and friends.

Design work creating solid models and technical drawings using CAD with hand calculations and stress analyses involving finite element analysis to back up design decisions. Supervising the manufacture of products including purchasing materials and parts, and coordinating delivery. Keeping project files up to date with all relevant certificates, calculations, quotes, delivery notes and purchase orders organised to meet standards.
