Twenty five plus years in banking had left me somewhat specialized within the financial services industry (and a little weary of the banking industry in general). Executive level experience in large and small bank asset management, product development, marketing, pricing and profitability certainly must apply to other industries. Fortunately, one of those industries found me. I'm currently managing (creating/developing/building) my second specialty finance firm doing national lending in a niche education lending business. The position provides exactly the variety of day-to-day experience which keeps a job particulalry interesting. Specialties: Much of my expertise is specific to lending and portfolio management, product management, and marketing; which is to say management of the products themselves (from pricing and profitability to reporting and budgeting). Within that rather broad spectrum also comes management of large and small staffs in sales and operations. Some day, when things settle a bit and my daughter is well out of college, I'll be giving my time away; digging irrigation ditches, teaching English, or building a gravity fed well system in the third world, but for now, I do enjoy what I do.
