Prevention Coordinator
CurrentConduct and oversee sexual assault primary prevention activities and events.Responsible for the education of students and the general public on relationship violence prevention. Areas covered include healthy relationships and communities, consent, gender socialization, bystander intervention, and other topics. This is achieved by utilizing presentations, lessons, public events, videos, public service announcements, and other methods.Conduct presentations to students from kindergarten through college as well as the general public on various topics related to relationship violence prevention. These topics include the various aspects of healthy and unhealthy relationships, toxic masculinity, consent, gender socialization, and bystander intervention.Develop activities for students to help them learn and recognize healthy and unhealthy relationships.Write and record monthly public service announcements for local radio stations covering various prevention topics.Produce a weekly podcast for the agency focusing on prevention and other topics related to the agency's goals and mission.Organize and lead two monthly coalition meetings with other agencies to promote relationship violence prevention within the community.Represent the agency at other coalition and interagency meetings in the community.Attend meetings and provide input as a member of the Lufkin, Nacogdoches, and Diboll ISD's Student Health Advisory CouncilsPrepare quarterly reports as required to fulfill certain grant requirements.Prepare monthly reports and forms dedicated to logging prevention activities.Organize and carry out various prevention education and awareness events at Stephen F. Austin State University and Angelina College.Attend trainings, seminars, and conferences to continue education and knowledge of various aspects of prevention education.
