As Child Find Coordinator for Burke ECI, it is my job to inform the community about services ECI provides to children and their families. We work with children ages birth to 3 years who have developmental delays and disabilities. Duties include establishing relationships between ECI and service agencies, physicians, schools, day cares, and any other agency or organization that serves children and could be a potential referral source. This is done by informing them of the Early Childhood Intervention program and providing up to date information, and listening to any concerns that may be expressed. Additionally, visit and work with local and state agencies who serve children in our area by exchanging information about our programs so we are both well informed about what our agencies do and how we can help each other serve the children in our catchment area. Also attend community events such as health fairs and other public events to spread awareness about ECI services.Conduct child screenings utilizing the ASQ-3, and had observation time with therapists. Write and edit a monthly newsletter for the parents of the children the program serves, providing them with the latest information on the ECI program, as well as parenting tips and art and craft projects they can do with their toddlers.Established a Facebook page specifically for Burke ECI, and updated the page daily. Also wrote and recorded monthly public service announcements to promote the Burke ECI program.Developed and maintained a local resource guide for parents, and developed special guides from time to time, such as a guide that lists summer activities for children, and summer reading programs. Keep track of all referrals into the program and compare the referrals to places where I have conducted child find activities to determine the effectiveness of my child find efforts.
