OverviewOver the last 1.5 years Standard Bank has embarked on a transformation to Agile practices. Within this new set up I have taken on the accountability for delivery across both Market and Credit risk legacy system updates, as well as developing a new App Store across the risk functions. The team consists of 12 direct resources.Key Responsibilities: • Accountable for delivery across the Market and Credit risk systems• Manage the resource allocation of the new look team – interview, recruit, ensure appropriate levels and skill set in the team • Coach and mentor new members in the team – career goal setting and development strategy • Manage the capacity of the team - develop resource plans to meet business objectives• Ensure long and short term objectives are delivered to the business stakeholders,• Accountable for all Agile processes and practises to ensure effective team management • Develop close relationships to ensure all communication and reporting between key clients (internal business stakeholders) and the feature team is effective• Accountable for the budget – ensure that the forecasting and resource allocation/tracking is aligned at a portfolio level

Accountable for jointly managing the ‘Compass’ programme, which is a multi-year project with numerous deliverables and spanning all regions (UK, SA and Africa) within the Standard bank group. The budget was approximately R20m per year, indirectly managing 12- 15 people depending on the deliverable.Overview of the Compass Programme:• The programme’s primary objective is to replace the Market Risk legacy risk calculation engine (RiskWatch) by migrating to the Front office system (Murex)• The secondary objective is to replace the Market risk reporting system with a BI platform• I was involved with the programme from inception to implementationKey Responsibilities: • Manage stakeholder expectations by building close relationships with key executives within Market Risk and Front Office; and being the key liaison between business and IT• Managing supplier relationships and delivery according to approved contracts (Murex)• Effectively manage the project schedule – tracking milestones to ensure delivery is met in terms of time, scope and within budget• Responsible for managing the budget – forecasting, tracking actuals, resource allocation• Actively manage the risk and issues associated with the project• Manage dependencies across different areas of the bank – ensuring Front Office and Risk architectural strategies align• Provide effective leadership to the project resources – mentoring members of the team • Continually look for process improvements to increase team productively – moved to Agile approach
