CTVC allows its TrueTube platform (see below) and a selection of users to be utilised as a test bed in a range of co-funded technology research projects. In addition to his on-going commitment as Product Manager of TrueTube, Stuart was promoted to Innovation & Development Director in 2011, reflecting his increased participation in these projects. To date, Stuart led CTVC's involvement in three EC FP7 projects and one UK TSB project: SARACEN(FP7) - a scalable peer to peer 2D and 3D video streaming platform; PURSUIT(FP7) - building a publish-subscribe model for a future information centric internet; REVERIE(FP7) – an immersive 3D environment connected with social networks; PARTEC(TSB) looking at persistent metadata storage within the visual field of video streams.Stuart’s work in this area includes:• Working with European partners to develop innovative large scale technology projects for European funding applications• Supporting the development of proposals and budgets• Managing CTVC’s commitment and budgets (totalling £800k over three years)• Developing use case scenarios to show how the new resulting technologies might be utilised • Developing public trials to test Quality of Experience of resulting technologies• Exploring the business cases for CTVC/TrueTube of the research projects• Management of work packages and tasks – coordinating the work of other organisations to produce research results or software• Researching current state of the art competing technologies

TrueTube is a free educational website using short‐form, web‐based video to encourage young people to discuss and learn about the social issues which affect them.One of the few video-based websites to be allowed into schools, TrueTube hits the Every Child Matters agenda and has won several high profile awards from BESA and BECTA including the BETT Award for Secondary Digital Content in 2013 & 2009 and the Education Resources Award for Innovation in 2008 and was nominated for a Children’s BAFTA in 2008.TrueTube offers a unique approach to teaching the topics at the heart of the PSHE, RE and Citizenship curricula. From start-up, Stuart quickly identified the relevance of TrueTube to both formal and informal education and has since used his skills to lead the project within this inspiring area.Stuart’s keys tasks were:• Exploring, developing and managing innovative relationships with new partners to mutual benefit • Managing development and upgrades to the TrueTube website and associated materials• Managing development of interactive e-learning products• Managing development of educational resource packs and lesson plans• Developing new online & offline projects and writing outline proposal documents for in‐house use• Managing development of funding proposals for new online & offline projects and co‐ordinating approaches to potential funders• Overseeing marketing strategy• Development and management of project budgets• Development and updating of H&S policies including child & vulnerable adult protection policy, staff code of conduct, risk assessments, website privacy policy, website terms of service policy and website house rules• Day to day management of team of up to 10 film makers, trainers a fundraiser and an education writer
