During my time at BELKIN, my main responsibility is to increase sales and awareness of the BELKIN brand in all major retail chains. This has been achieved by:• Relationship Building - This position relies heavily on face-to-face contact with store staff, managers and Head Office staff and as such considerable interpersonal and communication skills are essential• Training - My key role within BELKIN is to assess development needs and train staff on leading edge technologies such as Networking Solutions and Bluetooth. These sessions vary in size, ranging from two up to thirty people and it is my responsibility to ensure that I meet the needs of each individual and also any training strategy implemented at store level• Sales - As this role is customer facing I am also required to sell the products, thus developing a keen awareness of solving issues and an ability to overcome objections. Whilst working for PC World I had the opportunity to work in a wide range of departments, resulting in many different duties. These included:• Ensuring that the store was merchandised to the highest standards at all times, even when deadlines were extremely tight. This involved implementing and maintaining promotions efficiently so as to present the store in a light that continually ensured sales growth. This was achieved by working as a member of a small team, whilst ultimately being responsible if any problems arose• Reconciling the daily banking figures, ensuring credit agreements were completed correctly and maintaining sufficient cash levels• Correctly managing the stock file so that a true reflection of the stock position could be established at all times. As a result I had to be completely accurate, as my actions would have a direct impact on the business• Handling the large volume of calls that are taken everyday which on numerous occasions could result in twelve lines being used simultaneously

In general they required more information than home students, as many had arrived in England with no accommodationAttending induction conferences, which enabled me to present my views on Coventry University's induction process and listen to how other universities, conducted their induction process
