Experienced and adaptable professional with extensive experience in User Experience Research, Design and Evaluation across all platforms. This is complemented by a practical knowledge of games development technologies, 3D modelling and creative writing. Most of which are the result of extensive self study. I apply all of these skills in my varied role at City, University of London where my key responsibilities include:- Managing City Interaction Lab, a UX consultancy/ facility, coordinating student consultants on projects for external clients.- Working with stakeholders across City, University of London to embed Immersive technologies in their teaching, assessment and research. - Leading a postgraduate Virtual Reality Design & Development module (designing module, setting assignments, delivering lectures / tutorials and assessments).- Teaching and assessment on a range of postgraduate modules on the MSc Human Computer Interaction Design - Organising the annual HCID Conference (200+ attendees, 30+ speakers) on behalf of the Centre for Human-Computer Interaction Design for over 10 years. - Organising the inaugural Immersive Design Sector Forum on behalf of the School of Science and Technology. Alongside more traditional UX I have decided to expand my focus to incorporate the Immersive sector due to the variety and scale of the projects and the fact that it is a new frontier for Interaction Design.NOTE: I changed my name from Stuart Norman in 2014 for personal reasons.

We support both commercial and academic projects with services such as design research, interaction design, service design, information architecture and usability evaluation. Our aim is to become synonymous with human centred design and innovation. When people want to explore the future of HCI I want them to think of the Interaction Lab. As the Interaction Lab manager I hope to continue providing quality usability testing to our existing clients as well as looking into other areas where the Interaction Lab can support their businesses. With the Interaction Lab being located close to London’s bustling start-up community I am keen to identify ways to ensure that any digital products being developed there keep users at the centre of their process. So expect some new services targeted at that area soon. For now I’d like to ask any old contacts of the Interaction Lab to get in touch and introduce themselves and any new contacts to make themselves known. I also had to learn the fundamentals of web design and publishing in order to have constructive dialog with our web designers regarding the launch of the new company website. With these newfound skills I designed, produced and distributed the Keylogo e-newsletter to all our customers. I also helped make the office more efficient by using my database experience to monitor inbound sales leads and reporting back to my manager. On one occasion I was required to organise the logistics for a large delivery, sorting the correct goods for over a dozen locations, labelling up over a hundred medium sized boxes and assisting the van driver on the day to ensure safe delivery. I was also required to make and answer sales calls. I secured a number of sales for the company, some of which were for over £1000 of goods. Show less -

I regularly took over a hundred calls a day and had the fastest call resolution rate. As I had to take down callers details during a live call being a fast typist was essential for the role. Whilst in this employment I gained a calm confident telephone manner and learnt how to deal with difficult members of the public. -

With their help I increased the output of the direct marketing literature we distributed on behalf of our clients. During my time there I also showed initiative by producing a proposal for how one of our biggest clients could target a new market. This put me in good favour with my manager and our client and I regularly took part in cross company visits and training sessions. On several occasions I had to entertain these clients and show them our postal operation. I also produced a popular office newsletter that brought me to the attention of our head office causing them to request for me to help formulate content for the new company intranet. Show less -
