Responsible for product development, factory support, and quoting design efforts for RFQ’s.• Developed a 1600V, 1400W, AC/DC Power Supply used to power an unmanned vehicle. The input uses a 4 phase interleaved PFC with digital control provided by a dsPIC33FJ DSC. The output uses a full bridge topology with multiple transformer.• Initial designs for high performance 3 watt LED flashlights based on a microcontroller, with multiple power settings.• SCADA based dry transformer temperature monitor with 3 thermocouple inputs, 4 alarm relays, MODBUS interface, based on an ARM 7TDMI processor.• Redesigned a remote AC/DC power supply with EEE C62.41.2 6KV / 3KA Lightning protection circuit.• NY City Transit Authority vehicular DC/DC power supply.• Quoting engineering efforts for customer-driven design projects that included processor selection, SMPS topology, major component values, magnetic design, and cost and development time estimates. • Developed a series of 1.5 to 3W isolated boost converts modules in a .5 x .5 x .4 inch package with output voltages from 50 to 300VDC. Developed the microcontroller based test fixture with SD card data logging, and serial interface for debug and calibration.• A high voltage power supply for a heads-up display with 15KV, 3KV and 650V outputs.• Developed a test fixture for a high volume (+100K EAU) power supply, based on a PLC with graphical user interface.• Modified an existing TI C2000 based signal conditioning module to run two independent programmable filters instead of just one.

Responsible for the development of customer and internally driven hardware and firmware designs, for the professional audio industry. • Interact with customers to create job estimates, specifications, and design documentation.• Development of memory mapped Linux kernel drivers.• Identified faults in a manufacturer's ASIC that caused unreliable operation. • Debugged manufacturer's design when not they were unable to resolve the issue.• Designed multiple Xilinx Spartan 3 FPGA platforms and associated VHDL gateware used for Audio Multiplexing.• 10/100 and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, including PoE Powered Device Controllers.• Developed a low cost adjustable gain pre-amplifier with 105 dB SNR and less than 0.03% THD+N, with 50 dB of gain adjustment. This was in close proximity to a 10/100 Ethernet interface, FPGA, SDRAM and LCD display.• Responsible for EMI compliance of the above design without having control of the placement of I/O or the display.• Multiple Planer Magnetic designs. Including Flyback and Push-Pull transformers.• 8 and 32 bit microprocessor based designs with SDRAM or DDR memory and NOR or NAND based non-volatile storage.

Responsible for the design and development of fire and intrusion alarm systems and components.• Collaborated on the architecture for a new, high performance intrusion and fire alarm panel platform utilized worldwide. Researched and selected the main processor and promoted the use of Linux. Researched and recommended technology used for main communications / power bus and authored the initial qualification testing.• Redesigned various intrusion panels for improved performance, power, and obsolete parts, including a new low cost transformer-less telephone interface (DAA ) for worldwide compliance.• Developed a line of low power field bus sensors.• Implemented and refined a field bus protocol that optimized timing by changing from a polled to an event-driven protocol. • Developed the two remote power supplies, consisting of 220 to 276 watt off-line SMPS, lead acid battery charger, serial communications bus interface, discrete inputs, and four supervised outputs with voltage and current monitoring .

Responsible for the design and development of various radio communication system components and modules from initial concept through introduction to manufacturing.• Designed various modules for tactical radios including, switch mode power supplies, and base band audio processing. • Developed a phased matched RF switching matrix PWB.• Led EMI compliance per MIL-STD-461 for various products.• Performed system integration and analysis of a 1 kilowatt HF transceiver system.
