My day to day role is that of a customer facing software engineer, I develop solutions for clients in the public and private sector, having involvement in the entire software life cycle. I also have a secondary role as Information Manager where I manage information security within the business, from drafting and implementing policy to managing and reporting on security incidents.

My job entailed ensuring that aircraft were maintained and rectified to allow them to carry out varying roles in a variety of environments. With this job I am required to check that the aircraft is fit to fly before taking off, and the responsibility lies solely with my judgement. Some of the environments that I work in require tackling problems in difficult situations under stress and time constraints such as operations in Afghanistan.
