Within Ideagen's GRC Division, I lead Ideagen's largest development team based in East Kilbride and manage the delivery of multiple products using a variety of technologies that contribute of to over 80% of the groups new sales revenue.Within my role, I'm responsible for the delivery of the groups flagship products Q-Pulse and Coruson with over 35+ technical staff within East Kilbride and a number or remote workers throughout the groups other locations within the UK and Europe. I'm responsible for definition of our cloud strategy and the delivery of the full software development lifecycle including incident and release management, agile methodologies and techniques, test driven development, continuous integration, automated build & deployment.

East Kilbride

I lead a team of developers on a greenfield project to deliver the next generation cloud based SaaS GRC product (Coruson) using the latest .NET Technologies, Woking as a hands on team lead I leveraging the latest service offerings from Amazon Web Service (AWS) including EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, SQS, SNS and DynamoDB to build a modern SaaS product. I was also responsible for defining and implementing a CQRS based architecture and messaging patterns to decouple services enabling them to elastically scale independently. The product was built using the latest .NET Framework, MVC, MSSQL, MongoDB, NUnit, Backbone and started as team size of initially 3 developers to over 20 developers and multiple teams.

Building on my success as Test Development Engineer I progressed quickly into the Lead Test Engineer position and became responsible for creating and maintaining the company wide testing strategy used on all development projects and leading a team of automated and manual testers. I worked closely with our Technical Architects to influencing the application architecture to ensure that it's compliant with the defined testing strategies. I also championed the changed in or development process to implemented both Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development approaches.

East Kilbride

After joining Gael Ltd I was primarily responsible for establishing the test automation strategy and dramatically reducing the effort and cost of regression testing. Using .NET technologies and a number of testing tools including Selenium and TestComplete, I Identified and created user acceptance and functional tests cases using traditional black box and white box techniques and provided automated testing solutions in an agile development environment across multiple projects.

Remote & Toronto

At Group of Goldline I was tasked with working closely with the existing development team (based in Canada) to establish and develop a java based automated testing framework built on IBM Rational Functional Tester. I was responsible for producing and executing automated functional software plans that ensured products were delivered to the highest standards and released quickly into the markets.
