Client-side commercial property asset management (unlisted) for an asset management company with mandates from public entities in South Africa (pension funds, unemployment insurance funds etc.). I have undertaken numerous roles with the unlisted commercial property arena over the past 20 years. Most recently in an unlisted property portfolio management role (responsible for c.4m sqm GLA) in a $140bn AuM discretionary multi-asset management firm. I bring a recent track record of • Executing co-investment / equity and funding (debt and LP subscription) transactions with fund managers and sponsors within EMEA property markets (deals from $10m to $100m+); • Underwriting unlisted investment and development opportunities for board approval, • Negotiating successful direct investment transactions as lead transaction manager across key property sectors and with weighted average return of over top quartile of the benchmark. (e.g. 50,000 m2 mixed use development; 35,000m2 head office development; 50,000m2 regional shopping centre; portfolio of 30 offices buildings). In recent portfolio management roles I have undertaken • Research & benchmarking as well as directed valuations for 4 million m2 international property portfolio which included super regional shopping centres and airports. • Led the performance monitoring at fund and asset level, financial modeling & investment software management modernization and represents property division on risk committees.Previously my roles included director of private equity property investment companies and country head for commercial property agency (Knight Frank). I am a member of a South African Property Owners Association's (SAPOA) Research Committee & Unlisted Fund Committee.
