In this role I was part of a team developing an MVC application to be used for managing work like building and refurbishment projects as well as maintaining registers of Risks and Incidents.

This position follows on immediately from my position with Ultra Electronics Controls after a company structural reorganisation.I started with Ultra in May 2009 as part of a small development team in the production of a .Net 3.5 WCF application for the Cabinet Office, designed to act as a collaborative tool for all major incident management services in the UK including Fire, Ambulance and Police services as well as local government organisations.The parts the application I designed and developed I was responsible for the development of all layers of the application.The UI development included web pages and user controls development utilizing the Telerik suite of ASP.NET AJAX controls.The development of the business and data access layers included development of service interfaces, including generation of data and service contracts, presentation layer, service hosts (HTTP), business logic and data access layers. The application uses LINQ in the data access layer and the code I developed included LINQ to SQL queries.I have developed a document management module, redeveloped a Calendar/Event Management/Scheduling module and have worked on the Discussion module of the application.I also helped to implement and develop bespoke functional and object level security to the application which allows the application to control what pages and controls within those pages are visible, based upon the group membership of a particular user.

Qube Global Software (formally Estate Computers Systems) manufacture Qube, a package designed to help estate management. My role is enabling access to Qube's information and processes via the internet.

MSS provided communications technology. They also provided a support desk application. My role was to provide a web-based front end for this product.

During this period I worked as part of a small team with the responsibility of consolidating the organisation's numerous support functions.The role saw the team develop new procedures and implement a new softeware solution that covered the needs of all of the different support groups in the Nottingham operation

During this period I provided first- and second-line support an a number of database engines including Informix (SE and Online), Oracle (v6 and v7) and SQL Server (v4.2 and 2000).My role included providing remote DBA support for clients, on-site visits for same and the development and provition of training for customer's own staff to provide day-to-day DBA support

In this role I provided telephone and on-site support and training for the EFACS manufacturing suite. This included provision of Informx database and Unix administration training.The EFACS manufacturing suite covered all aspects of engineering batch manufacture and provided a comp[rehensive accounting suite also and the support role required a knowledge of all facets of the roles covered by the software.In addition to support, I also provided pre-sales consultancy to help potential new clients understand the impact that implementing the software would have.

Full range of IT support including maintenance of Unix and AIX servers, maintenance and support of EFACS manufacturing software and the development of bespoke software using Informix 4GL

During this period I worked in the Department of Organisation and Quartering and had responsibility for compiling quarterly statistics for the Ministry of State on the state of RAF quartering.In addition, I was partially responsible for the identification and disposal of excess Married Quarters and Land owned and operated by the RAF.

My time in the RAF covered a number of roles which ended with me serving in the RAF Regiment on a Rapier Surface-to-Air missile squadron. During my time in the RAF I served in the UK, Germany and the Falkland Islands.
