Initially a pure Data Engineering role to look after ETL jobs using SQL, DBAmp, Informatica and SAP BODS across three Salesforce orgs. I was promoted to Senior and my role expanded to owning standards, mentoring, solution architecture and informal leadership within the delivery team.• Designed a scalable data model to support the organisation goal of “Single Customer View” within the primary Salesforce instance whilst allowing data to be managed in the system of record for that business line.• Enhanced the performance of multiple jobs to deliver near real-time (2-3 minutes) performance rather than data loading on an hourly schedule. • Improved integrations into Salesforce to ensure they used the strategic duplicate matching system. This greatly reduced manual interventions to merge records that caused impact to customers.• Enabled data quality improvements by implementing data models that allowed Salesforce to provide basic MDM using data hierarchies across multiple source systems.

Data Engineer/ETL Developer within the Salesforce Engineering team using MS SQL 2012 & 2014, DBAmp and SAP Business Objects. Delivered a re-write of Informatica jobs into SAP Business Objects Data Services for all Salesforce ETLs. All jobs had to be reverse engineered, documented and built without full regression scenarios to support success. This enabled considerable savings by removing the need for an Informatica license.

ETL and Database Development in SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) and Microsoft SQL 2008R2, 2012 and 2014. Also support and replacement of Legacy systems running on SQL 2000 DTS and SQL 2005 SSIS.

I took the opportunity to set up my own contracting business. My extensive data and application skills, aptitude to learn new technologies and approaches proved extremely valuable in this environment. I was repeatedly invited back onto successive contracts.The single biggest project during this time was leading the implementation of a new Salesforce org in place of an old NFP specialist database.

Overall responsibility for all IT and data infrastructure including line management. When I left this role, the team had grown to four, including a Head of Technology reporting directly to an Executive Director that replaced my role.

Responsible for the full IT infrastructure, Database administration and management of third party IT suppliers.
