I'm an analytical chemist specialising in high performanace liquid chromatography (HPLC). I studied chemistry at university, followed by a PhD in the photoyellowing of wool, which mainly involved amino acid analysis by HPLC. Since then for the last 30 years I have worked with HPLC, and now have a lab with 17 HPLC systems.My work includes running 29 different HPLC Courses at all levels, mostly in the UK but some around the world and within university programmes. I also develop new HPLC methods for customers, optimise and validat existing methods, and try to sort out the more difficult separation problems.My professional qualifications are:BSc ChemistryPhD PhotochemistryC ChemC SciMRSC (Royal Society of Chemistry)Outside of work, my interests are tennis, motor racing, photography and travelling. I used to race in the UK BMW championship.
