Black Flag TV Ltd provided specialist camera solutions to Production Companies in broadcast TV, film, advertising and Virtual Reality.As one of the founders of the company, I was responsible for the general management and development of the company, as well as providing filming services to end clients, including :- general filming on a number of major productions, including Top Gear, They Think It's All Over, The Gadget Show, The Grand Tour, Time Team- consulting/supplying for a number of major film productions, including Train Spotting 2, The Mummy, Disney : Nut Cracker Suite- project management, design and implementation of specialist "off grid" filming projects to monitor and record long duration filming projects in the UK and Ghana, incorporating renewable energy power sources, 4g communication links for remote management and content delivery- documenting and implementing standard operating procedures, safety procedures and risk management for underwater filming projects, and UAV (drone) filming projects.My position also required effective communication across a wide range of people including supervising and management of crew, consulting/advising for production companies, direct communication with production executives and major celebrities.

I was one of four people to set up Plastic Oceans as a non-profit making organisation in order to raise and promote awareness of, investigate and support potential solutions to, the issue of plastic debris in the world’s oceans.After defining the key objectives of the organisation, we identified the need for an initial project to launch the organisation into the public domain using a number of digital marketing strategies and the production and release of a short film, to promote the organisation’s aims in order to raise further support and funding through sponsorship and donations. I then went on to manage the project from initiation to close, working with a budget of £150k. The project was completed successfully, and was pivotal in securing sufficient funds and backers to allow Plastic Oceans to start work on the next stage.

IT Project Manager : Johnsons Hospitality ServicesIn response to a takeover of the event hire portion of HSS Hire, my role was to lead a project to merge the stock data and computer systems of the 10 HSS Event Hire depots in to Johnson Hospitality Services Ltd. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Financial Director of the company, my responsibilities within this role included;Defining the scope of the projectDesigning a system capable of meeting the immediate and future requirements of the company.Providing and managing a project plan and budget for the proposed system and method of implementationProcuring new hardware and software, as required.Planning and conducting suitable training of the ex-HSS Event Hire staff on the JHS stock control systemManaging and training the local IT staff in the implementation and support of the systemProviding technical knowledge to IT and service staff during the implementation process The project was completed by implementing a hub/spoke wide area network using VPN tunnels over a DSL network, allowing the remote clients to access the centralised HP Unix system using a telnet client. A new file and email system was also implemented throughout all depots, using a centralised Windows 2003/Exchange 2003 system and a locked down desktop at the client end using Active Directory policies on Windows XP Pro.The project was completed in December 2004, within the required timescales and budget.

Working as part of a team on a world wide roll out of a new e-mail system, my initial role was to provide project management and technical support for the migration from the legacy e-mail (HP Open Mail, HP All In One, MS Mail, CC Mail) and network operating system to the corporate standard of NT Server and Exchange within each of my thirteen assigned countries.Following completion of the project at the end of December 1998, my contract was extended to assist with the transition to an ongoing service. My position was upgraded to deputy team leader in August 1999, taking on the further responsibility of recruiting, developing and managing permanent staff to replace the existing contract staff base.
