CAFO Engineering Program Manager, Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), Bureau of Env. Field Services(BEFS), Livestock Waste Management Section. As an Professional Engineering Manager within Livestock Waste or Confined Animal Feedlot Operations (CAFO) responsible for review of engineering design and to ensure regulatory oversight. This regulatory experience is adding years of experience with more traditional environmental engineering and consulting including; site inspections and investigations, sampling, reporting, spill prevention planning, permitted disposal, treatment, or discharges. Including the cleanup or remediation of accidental or historic releases to soil, water, or air. I have routinely worked on a diverse and technically challenging collection of sites subject to a very wide range of environmental regulations. Environmental investigations, remedial actions, compliance reporting, and HS&E. Work completed has ranged from simple tasks to the most technically challenging long term efforts. A partial list of tasks performed to date includes, soil/water/air sampling, Phase 1/2/3 ESA's, SPCC/SWPPP plans, EPCRA Tier I/II and TRI reporting, corner gas stations (LUST sites), Phase II ESA's, etc... to the most complex: Dioxins, Chemical Plant RCRA site w/ DNAPL in Karst Limestone, Multiple Superfund Sites, Product Recovery at historic Oil Refineries, etc. Raised on a rural Kansas family farm and early work in the oilfields of SE Kansas developed a strong work ethic and an innate knowledge of Kansas Agriculture and Oil & Gas Production. Character and technical skills were furthered while working my way through college and playing varsity football (Go Miners!). I obtained my B.S. degree in Geological Engineering Class of 88 from the University of Misouuri - Rolla (UMR is now Missouri S&T). However, my life long education continues, with a ongoing list of advanced training classes. On the job experience continues to educate, sharpen skills, expand job knowledge, and adds to my list of professional contacts.
