- Managed all aspects of R&D leading to the commercialization of sample preparation, sample collection and HPLC products used in Clinical Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, Forensic and Environmental Testing applications.- Project Lead for R&D and commercialization of the following products: ○ Impact (protein precipitation well plate)○ Phree (Phospholipid removal well plates and tubes)○ Novum (Solid supported liquid-liquid extraction well plates and tubes)○ Mitra (Blood and biological fluid microsampler)○ Kinetix Biphenyl HPLC column.

- Involved at all levels of system fabrication, integration and testing of a commercially available handheld detector, continuous monitor, and a fully automated handheld for the performance of multiplexed rapid immunoassays for application in the biodefense and medical fields. - Responsible for recruiting, hiring/dismissal and training of research staff members. Managed and maintained multiple project teams, laboratories and all equipment. Responsible at all levels for performance of scientific research staff. - Managed and worked with multiple teams to develop fluorescent immunoassays for the detection of bacteria, viruses and proteins such as: Cardiac Troponin I and T, Bacillus anthracis, Staphyloccocous Enterotoxin B, Botulinum Neuortoxins and complexes, Yersinia pestis, West Nile Virus, Francisella tularensis, Cholera toxin, and Ricin (RCA60).- Developed the first formulations of sensors used in a fluorescence quenching application known as "Superquenching" that could be used to detect biomolecules, and published first manuscripts illustrating direct detection of DNA with the system. Directed scientific operations of teams developing high throughput assays for the detection of enzymatic activity and nucleic acid sequences.- Designed, maintained and operated a Level 2+ Biological Safety Lab under the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Select Agent Program. Served as both the principal investigator and Responsible Official for the lab. Maintained the certification of the lab for a period of five years by facilitating all audits and correcting all issues of non-compliance. - Developed and established a GLP/GMP environment for stability studies, product manufacturing, and Quality Control. - Presented QTL technology to investors, collaborators, and scientific piers (at scientific and trade conferences). Wrote proposals for numerous grants and government contracts.

- Developed and Synthesized DNA/RNA analogs, such as peptide nucleic acids and locked nucleic acids, as diagnostic and therapeutic agents. Performed thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of hybridization properties toward highly structured synthetic model systems, and biologically relevant targets.- Analyzed and modeled the binding of small molecules (cyanine dyes) to DNA targets.

- Performed molecular orbital energy calculations, studies of dynamics, and modeling of silanes.
