My experience of supporting organisations with safety and compliance is second to none and I like to think that I have built a reputation for providing the best advice possible in a way that kept the information clear. It is that ethos of avoiding ambiguity which led to the creation of 'Clear'. I don't believe that organisations are interested in advice, documentation or training that is laden with jargon or which doesn't try to understand how things actually work 'at the coalface'. It is the 'Clear' ethos which separates us from the rest - we understand and we go the extra mile to make safety and compliance easy, as opposed to being an obstacle.

• Full operational and financial control of RSA Environmental Health Ltd and In House• Management and co-ordination of staff team and contractors, including safety professionals delivering consultancy and training services to a broad range of clients.• Active participation in understanding clients’ safety needs and developing strategies to meet them. Co-ordinating resources to implement action plans to deliver statutory compliance and good practice. Acting as a key point of contact for prestigious clients.• Working at a strategic level, helping to deliver compliance monitoring, auditing (including HSG65 and OHSAS 18001), policy development, implementation of safety management systems and risk assessment programmes. This requires an understanding of the total spectrum of safety management.• A skilled adviser and negotiator, being able to deal with political sensitivities carefully and effectively from shop-floor to board level to help improve safety culture.• Actively work on the development and delivery of marketing and sales initiatives at corporate level. Fully involved in business development from strategy through to face to face client sales meetings and the subsequent generation of quotations to suit clients’ needs.• Sit on the operational board of directors of PHSC plc.

• Reporting to director level and responsible as line manager for a small team of consultants.• Management of safety, health and environmental packages for existing client base. This included responsibilities under EPA 1990 (including prescribed process compliance), COSHH, general risk assessments, noise risk assessments, liaison with enforcement officers.• Site environmental and safety auditing as well as environmental management system auditing to ISO 14001 and general advice with regard to ISO compliance and help with working towards accreditation.• Occupational health assessments including display screen equipment, lighting surveys, dust and solvent exposure monitoring, local exhaust extraction system appraisals.• Substantial strategic business development experience working alongside company director. This has included the inception of a new company brand together with product and service development and associated literature. Business acumen was developed with involvement in company growth targets and with face to face pitching to prospective clients to win additional business.• All-round provision of services and management of contracts and client relationships. Tailoring bespoke services and products to clients needs based upon direct contact with management and director level client representatives.
