I have now retired from 19 years as a tax partner at BDO. It was my focus as a partner and leader to inspire, empower and engage with our people to do the very best for themselves and our clients. I was a member of the firm’s Tax Exec from its inception in 2006 to 2019 with responsibility for sales and marketing as well as the national Corporation Tax practice in the final few years.I co-chaired our UK Brexit task force and chaired our EMEA Brexit task force from the initial referendum result to just after the actual exit from the EU. I spent time with national and local government teams as well as travelling throughout the EU speaking at seminars and various events.I chaired our national Sales Board from 2010 to 2017 and remained on the board until 2018. During this time I was responsible for the firm’s sponsorship of The Sunday Times Fast Track and Profit Track indices.In my client facing role, I focused mainly on M&A and corporate restructuring and advising clients on outward international expansion. I also have deep expertise in R&D tax credits, having worked in this area since 2002, when first introduced to the UK.
