Prior to creating Provision Capital Partners, I was a Managing Director at LBC Credit Partners, and the co-founder and managing partner for Apex Fundamental Partners, a lower middle market independent private equity sponsor, I sat on the Board of a successful oilfield services company. I began my asset management career as an outside consultant to PPM America, Inc. (“PPMA”), a $100 billion global investment firm, in its special investments group. I proved my value to the firm through hard work and tenacity and was hired full-time. I was quickly promoted to managing director. Some of my accomplishments include:Co-sourcing the acquisition of a $430 million non-performing, middle-market bank loan portfolio with 38 loans that yielded a 44% average annualized return over a 3 period. Negotiating the restructuring and acquisition of a distressed $700 million recreational vehicle business, which we sold 2 years later for a 20%+return.I am passionate about my role as board member of Children’s by Oncology Services, Inc. (“One Step Camp”) and am excited to be running the annual Texas Hold’em charity poker tournament benefitting One Step Camp for the sixth year in a row. Our mission is to empower kids who have cancer, encouraging them to take on the world! My fellow board members and event volunteers (who play a huge roll in making the event a success) have told me that I “have excellent leadership skills that have driven successful and sustainable results for the organization.” When I am not at work you can find me at a spin class, yoga class, or playing competitive wiffle ball almost every weekend between May and November. We enhanced the businesses operations by: 1) eliminating non-productive managers and promoting capable supervisors; 2) reducing truck rental costs by returning idle trucks to the lessor;3) restricting the number of paid, non-chargeable employee activities; 4) requiring the senior managers to provide weekly sales forecasts; and 5) retaining a PEO that upgraded the employee benefits at a much lower cost.We also sourced, structured and closed a 1st lien debt investment in a large tree and shrub nursery. Exited after two years with 16% IRR.While at Apex I also worked with Lissner Associates, Ltd. to provide consulting services to an distressed $70MM plastic injection molding company with four plant locations in the U.S. and China. -
