I have practised exclusively in town planning, property development, local government and environmental law since 1989 and lead a team of planning and environment lawyers at McCullough Robertson. I advise both government and private clients.I provide specialist strategic advice on major developments including master planned communities, town planning appeals, drafting planning documentation, infrastructure agreements and advising on enforcement of planning schemes, local laws and regulatory laws. My emphasis in recent years has been on major property development and infrastructure projects, and I provide solution oriented practical advice. Environmental and regulatory enforcement are also areas of particular expertise. I have exposure to both sides of a wide range of property, planning and environmental matters spanning multiple sectors and four eras of planning legislation in Queensland.In 2016 I was recognised by Best Lawyers as Lawyer of the Year, Land Use and Zoning - Brisbane, and have been listed in Best Lawyers for Planning and Environment each year since 2012. I have been ranked as Preeminent or Leading lawyer in the Doyles Guide for Planning and Environment, Heritage and Development since 2013, and the firm was recently listed as Planning and Environment law firm of the year.I was on the Management Committee of Queensland Environmental Law Association (QELA) from 1996 to 2012, and am a past President. I am a former but founding Board member of Brisbane Open House Limited, and served on the committee and Board for over 10 years to 2023. I was elected to the Management Committee of the Committee for Brisbane in November 2024.
