Currently working with a number of schools in the Scottish Highlands, seeing how the very best schools succeed whilst absorbing a new curriculum and fine-tuning my unique enigmatic style of teaching at the same time! Despite this fulfilling environment, I am equally keen to once again seek an exciting international position and, with Stacey (Music) am looking for an inspiring opportunity!

Took time out travelling, exploring new cultures, evaluating my life and planning my next adventure. I still have a strong desire to return to teaching. It's my passion and it's where I want to be, educating young minds and passing on everything I've learned over the years in a fun and engaging way.I was ready to undertake an exciting new position working under Nicholas Gunn at the pioneering first ever International Boarding school in Japan, JINIS in spring 2020 but unfortunately, COVID prevented this move. My father subsequently passed away in June and I have been caring for my mother with Dementia over the summer and autumn. Now that she is safe and content in a Scottish care home, I am again ready for my next challenge!

Pre-operations Commercial Manager – Much of my job specification mirrored a Facilities Management role. I was involved in a number of critical areas• Full cost analysis comparing vehicle manufacturers, sourced suppliers for our school catering onsite facilities including menus and the purchase of commercial kitchen equipment• Whole-school resourcing across all subject areas ensuring full accountability and non-duplicity• Insurances including staff health, buildings & public liability• Extra-curricular partners & the services they could bring to KCD• Assessing & appraising children to join KCD• Assisting with the staff induction programme and the implementation of the staff handbook, engaging with parents at social functions - “How is our college their best choice?”. • Full involvement with KCD marketing events including Rolls Royce • All of these skills involved initiative and excellent communication and inter-personal skills. I thrived on the various challenges and long hours expected to complete all tasks on time and with a positive outcome.

• Founder & co-director of UK-based companies ‘Beat Camp’ and ‘Corporate Bash’ • Delivered a successful unique range of education-based activities to schools, including staff INSET & corporate team-building workshops around the UK. • Our iconic ‘Junk Theatre’ involves a true mix of PE, Music and Dance. • Running these companies incorporated marketing through the full spectrum of social media, recruiting and training new staff, working alongside Heads, talking with parents and playing a significant pastoral role within the whole company. • Responsible for designing creative and stimulating lesson plans for practitioners, and qualified in, and implemented, the Trinity Arts Award we offered schools. Corporate Bash knew how to build teams. We knew our strengths and I always found out any chinks in a school staff or company armour! And our approach to Team-Building was refreshingly simple. We used three simple but highly effective ways of getting colleagues to work with one another through the power of Music; Physical Percussion, Boom-whackers and Junk Theatre. In one of our highly entertaining workshops, teams were given the opportunity to tackle all three of these activities in completely different and challenging ways whilst ending up with entirely unique outcomes. From the process through to the product they were enormous fun, highly effective and unique. We showed schools and companies how to REALLY harness the power of their team!

Our iconic Junk Theatre (Think STOMP for kids!) and Street/Modern Dance, was a unique and fun way to get kids involved more in music-based after-school activities and all-day workshops. These were super-cool activities for fitness, coordination & self-confidence and a huge hit with schools & parents. Great for pupil premium and sports funding too! Due to the demand for something completely different, Beat Camp rapidly expanded their network of clubs & schools around the UK with professional dancers, drama teachers & drummers getting involved to drive this inspiring company forward.

With in excess of 800 children under my guidance, organised all in-house sports events as well as inter-school teams travelling around the country. Over a 4 year span, created and ran an entire Primary PE curriculum & ordered & utilised all the sports equipment from scratch. Also co-organised all major music events at the school. Left the school after 4 years with both the PE & Music departments very well established.
