This is a senior management role with the world governing body for golf, reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Communications. I am responsible for communications strategy, campaign planning, measurement and evaluation, advising and briefing c-suite executives, issues management, crisis communications, media relations, athlete relations, agency management and editing publications.I also act as a media relations officer for The Open, a major golf championship run by The R&A each year. My responsibilities include leading press conferences with golfers, facilitating media interviews with golfers and senior representatives of The R&A, preparing and briefing c-suite executives for media engagements, working with multi-agency partners to produce key messaging for fan communications, conducting mixed zone operations with broadcasters and media, and issues and crisis management. I also have experience of leading and managing teams at major sporting events, including The Open.

I was responsible for communications strategy, campaign planning, measurement and evaluation, advising and briefing c-suite executives and board members, stakeholder engagement, digital and social media content management, sponsorship management, media relations, athlete relations, broadcasting, agency management and editing of corporate publications.

Reporting directly to Team Scotland's Head of Media, my role as Media Officer (Hockey) at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games included writing news and feature content for Team Scotland's digital channels, briefing Team Scotland athletes, coaches and managers for interviews with the media, and working with venue operations teams to ensure access to athletes for the accredited media.

Reporting directly to Great Britain Hockey's Communications Director, my role as Media Officer during the London 2012 Olympic Games included writing news and feature content for its digital channels, creating and publishing content for its social media channels, and distributing valuable information to its key media contacts, including match reports, facts & stats, flash quotes from athletes and coaches, athlete biogs and stats, and photography.

This was an executive level role with an events management company, directly reporting to its Events Director. I was responsible for management of marketing communications and campaigns across above the line and below the line channels with external agency support. I was also responsible for sponsorship management with event partners including The Royal Bank of Scotland, Tennents, Red Bull, Heineken, HP, Tiso and Cotswold Outdoor.

Reporting to the agency's Managing Director and Business Manager, I was responsible for the co-ordination of internet marketing campaigns for over 15 clients. I left this position to return to university in 2005/06.

I joined John Martin Group on a short-term graduate marketing placement to provide additional support to their team of executives during a busy period. I provided support in customer relationship management event management, proof-reading print adverts and sales brochures, and contributing to the planning process for a new retail website.
