DRT is a leader in the development and production of tactical SIGINT solutions and equipment, supplying capability to US & allied war fighters, the intelligence community, law enforcement, and program of record system integrators. Stuart was selected by members of Boeing’s Electronics & Sensors Solutions leadership team to lead DRT’s Programs and Strategy organization. He established an operating rhythm for DRT strategic activities, aligning to Boeing’s operating needs. Stuart and his program management (PM) team worked with Business Development and Engineering to develop 5 year strategic business timelines. He developed strategy content used by the President in all hands meetings, business reviews, & Boeing VIP briefs. Stuart removed unnecessary meetings and reports, and reduced his organization’s overhead expenditures by more than 40%. He focused the PM team on reducing project costs and risks, resulting in over $1M in savings. Stuart has guided the PM team to develop more realistic project plans, removing more than $6M in unrealizable budget expenditures. He established an operating rhythm where projects, personnel, and resource allocations were reviewed monthly. Stuart reduced and consolidated projects, bringing efficiencies in project management, and reducing the high work in process. Stuart simplified the project priority system used to align the work. He introduced new tools to track both risks and actions items. Stuart worked to strengthen his team’s adherence to CMMI/ISO processes. He built an environment of openness and trust with his peers and direct reports.
