Carbios is a biotech company developing and industrializing biological solutions to reinvent the life cycle of plastic and textiles. Focused on corporate strategy and product development to seize emerging opportunities including full responsibility for the launch of a new venture called 2DegreesCooler. 2DegreesCooler: Launched a new venture, 2DC in < 6 months; a product line catering to sustainable brands and large CPG’s for compostable flexible packaging, Developed and executed products witj three Fortune 500 CPG players as well as two key CPG distributors. Positioning 2DegreesCooler as North America’s thought leader in sustainable compostable films for flexible packaging. Cultivated non competitive collaboration with key value stream partners.EcoCampus: Conceived and lead on promoting and designing a first of its kind eco-campus facility designed to create biopolymers from organic waste methane, chemically recycle stranded plastics and divert 75% of waste from landfill to a higher better use. Assembled a partnership of promising emerging tech companies to create a waste-to-energy model designed to be replicated across the globe.

Promoted to full P&L role with responsibility for operations, sales and manufacturing and all staff management, recruitment and performance management. Functioned as a key member of a Series A financing. Key wins included: ✭ Oversaw manufacturing including global supply chains, negotiation and integration of new manufacturing partner✭ Developed key OEM relationships in Taiwan and China over 18 months to build custom designed extrusion equipment to run exclusively biopolymer films, a first of its kind project in North America. ✭ Supported a new sales team with market strategy and develop a differentiated value proposition for company’s emerging agriculture film market that has resulted in exponential revenue growth✭ Cultivated and leveraged brand reputation as an industry innovator to successfully develop and enter into key relationships and attract R&D projects with global brands and suppliers.

Hired by Lakeside’s leading biopolymer customer to bring Lakeside’s compostable organics waste liners business and manufacturing to Minnesota and launch Organix Solutions, a brand new company. Built a business from ground zero to hiring staff, developing the brand and marketing assets and go to market strategy. Role evolved to lead all marketing and business development efforts, train new staff and instill a culture of entrepreneurship, collaboration and urgency. Successfully developed and commercialized an agricultural mulch film solution. Created branding, trademark and early business development.

Challenged with developing and leading strategic and operating plans to revitalize the company. Created innovative new product line, implemented lean methods and built customer focus, resulting in sale and merger by competitor.✭ Initiated new Lean foundational processes and deployed Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement resulting in significant cost and waste reductions and productivity gains ✭ Developed new compostable consumer/agricultural product lines, created marketing campaign and led business development efforts. Resulted in 11% CAGR since product introduction in 2010.

Reporting to the CIO, built company-wide underwriting performance metrics aligned to the organization’s strategic objectives and communicated those objectives throughout the organization. Developed an enterprise level operational dashboard to monitor KPI’s and operational metrics. Worked with C-Level officers on ratemaking and pricing.

Recruited to build a Canadian marine division and gain market share nation-wide. Developed and successfully proposed a comprehensive strategy and business plan. Led implementation of detailed action plan. Worked on numerous, cross-border process improvements.
