A global role responsible for leading on Government & External Relations to influence policy, harness robust networks, and establish long-term partnerships to enhance Biwater’s reputation and global footprint. 1. GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS: (i) Lead, develop, and maintain relations with UK (X-Whitehall) and Foreign Governments, Parliaments, multi-lateral organisations, and accountable bodies; (ii) Build credibility and long-term trust to support the company’s political affairs activities, lobbying, and engagement set pieces; (iii) Communicate complex issues at high levels (e.g. Prime Ministerial, Ministerial, State Governorate, multi-laterals); (iv) Advocate for the company’s interests in legislative and regulatory processes. 2. EXTERNAL AFFAIRS: (i) Engage with broader external stakeholders to influence the debate; (ii) Represent the company and speak at official events; (iii) Build effective external networks, alliances, and partnerships on key business opportunities; (iv) Monitor and analyse external trends to identify significant global opportunities and risks; (v) Provide political, geo-political, economic, and security reporting; (vi) Collaborate internally on public relations strategies. 3. LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT: (i) Help provide this to teams at HQ and overseas regions; (ii) Help foster a collaborative working environment aligned with the company’s core values, policies, and corporate plans; (iii) Contribute to strategic decision-making processes and overall direction of the company; (iv) Help to drive and implement the delivery of global initiatives, strategic goals, alliances, partnerships, grant applications, and public sector frameworks. 4. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Contribute to the organic growth of Sales; gathering, analysing, and packaging key business intelligence. Collaborate with regional overseas teams on business development efforts across all overseas markets.

Represented UK Gov. at a senior level to Iraq’s private sector, government, and associations. Led a trade team across Iraq, advising UK plc in the Oil & Gas, Aviation, Infrastructure, Defence & Security, and Healthcare Sectors. Coached UK companies on the Iraq Investment piece.

FCO Representative - Cabinet Office Policy/Operations Team - led on resettlement of Afghan staff working for the UK Gov/Armed Forces in Afghanistan.

A temporary diplomatic assignment to help lead the Post and deliver targeted UK foreign policy objectives in St Lucia, and St Vincent & Grenadines.

Helped lead the British Mission in Basra during the occupation by US forces. Delivered targeted UK foreign policy in Southern Iraq.

Worked as part of the diplomatic mission to underpin UK Security aims in Afghanistan. Secretariat of UK Gov’s Afghanistan Delivery Board.

Directed the FCO’s Consular and Crisis Network across South America.
