I am founder and executive chairman of Krutham (formerly Intellidex), a research and consulting firm specialising in the financial sectors of emerging markets, with offices in Sandton, Boston and London. We partner banks, investors, capital market infrastructures, insurers, development agencies, multilaterals, governments and philanthropies to maximise the public benefit of financial systems.My roles include financial analyst, consultant and (part time) academic. I have spent the past 24 years researching financial institutions and markets in Africa.I am also a research associate of the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science at the LSE where I develop research related to my doctoral work on the foundations of theoretical finance.I began my career as a journalist, becoming news editor of the Financial Mail and contributing editor to the Financial Times Business group before co-founding Krutham (then Intellidex) in 2008.For fun I run marathons and cycle. I am usually found in London and often in Johannesburg.
