My passion: helping employees, teams, organizations, and the business succeed in harmony. My philosophy: advocate ferociously, lead fearlessly, but most of all... find time to smile or have a good laugh. I'd be lying if I told you I grew up wanting to pursue a career in HR. When I was 6 years old I told my parents I wanted to be a "doctor working man", vowing I would find the cure for my sister's painful case of eczema. As you can tell, I didn't become a doctor (a story for a different time) and lucky for my sister her eczema healed naturally. Like many students in college I struggled to find a field of study I would consider "home" for a career, until my senior year at the University of South Carolina when I realized what my passion was - selflessly helping others, and this could be seen in my job history dating back to my high school job as a Lifeguard. I tell this story hoping to peel back an important layer of the onion, giving you a better idea of who I am and why I do what I do.From there I started my HR career in the University of South Carolina's Master of Human Resources program. Upon graduation I started by professional career with GE in their Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP), a two-year rotational program which provided me with three unique experiences/roles.After completing GE's HRLP, I joined GE Transportation as an HR Manager supporting the Senior HRBP for Corporate/HQ Functions, specifically supporting our Finance and Sales teams across North and South America. I joined the team at an integral time, as we were preparing to separate from GE and begin integration with a new company - Wabtec Corporation. I was fortunate enough to be involved in the integration of two historically renowned businesses.Last year, I took the next step in my career and moved into a Regional Talent Development role with Otis Elevator Company. My current role is focused on all things employee engagement, talent/organizational development, and performance management. Like GE/Wabtec, it's an exciting time to be apart of the Otis family as we've recently spun-off from United Technologies (UTC) and have become our own publicly traded, Fortune 500 company.Enough about work, there's plenty of time to discuss that side of my life. When I'm not in the office I enjoy playing soccer, running, hiking, kayaking, or anything that involves being outside with my dog, Kona. I love a good book, especially memoirs from the never-ending list of incredible people on this planet. Want to know more? Let's connect! I enjoy expanding both my network and others.
