- Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of Ontario Centres of Excellence’s media relations, issues management and media strategies as well as maintaining strong relationships with key media and internal and external stakeholders in order to support OCE’s goals.- Acting as front-line media responder and corporate spokesperson for OCE while briefing members of OCE's Executive Team and making them available for issue-specific interviews and/or as sources for articles on innovation and the knowledge economy.- Working with other members of the communications and marketing team to build profile and public awareness of OCE success stories and viewpoints and to develop pro-active and reactive strategies for communicating on key issues through traditional and social media channels.

- Spokesperson, press secretary and speech writer for the Mayor of Canada’s largest city.- Responsible for co-ordinating content from a team of communicators to deliver key messaging for both the Mayor and the City of Toronto and liaising with external agencies as well as numerous ministries within the Provincial and Federal governments.- In five years in the Mayor's Office, I was involved in the development and implementation of communications plans for major policy initiatives including:- Public advocacy campaigns to secure transfer payments from senior orders of government, for more power and autonomy for the City of Toronto, for a national handgun ban and for the restoration of funding for the Transit City light rail program.- The annual launch of the City's operating and capital budgets.- Inter-agency campaigns with the TTC, Toronto Public Library, Toronto Public Health, Toronto Hydro and Toronto Community Housing.- Strengthening relations with the City's major private sector partners including Scotiabank (Nuit Blanche, Caribana, Buskerfest), Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (sports facility refurbishments) and Astral Media (the City's co-ordinated Street Furniture Program)- Supporting the Mayor’s role as chair of the C40 Group of Cities leading on climate change – a London, England-based subsidiary of the Clinton Foundation.- Provided front-line crisis and emergency communications support during the Sunrise propane explosion, municipal workers' strike, west-end blackout and G20 summit.

- Served as a volunteer member of the Board.East Metro Youth Services (EMYS) is a multi-service adolescent mental health centre, accredited by the Children’s Mental Health Ontario (C.M.H.O.), which has been serving young people and their families in East Toronto since 1974.EMYS staff works in partnership with families, schools, and outside health professionals to help young people achieve their personal best by providing a range of prevention, assessment, and diagnostic services, as well as counselling, day treatment, transitional support, and residential services.
