I was a partner with EY for many years, and I am now looking to put all that experience to good use outside the firm. I have set up a consultancy to work with businesses on strategy, and joined both the Council and the Audit Committee of the University of Bradford. I am looking to work with growth companies, especially those planning funding rounds and / or IPO's, in an advisory or Non Executive capacity.I was the EY Senior Partner for Yorkshire and Humberside. I have over 30 years’ experience of working with mid market listed , PE backed and private companies . I have worked with companies planning for and going through IPO’s, often on dual track processes that can lead to a sale or an IPO, and those making acquisitions and expanding internationally. Development and recruitment of people was a key part of the role, including coaching of partners and potential partners. I also ran EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year awards programme in the UK, which celebrates the contribution of people who build and lead successful, growing and dynamic businesses, inspiring others with their vision, leadership and achievement.I was responsible for EY’s corporate responsibility work in Yorkshire, much of which is carried out through the EY Foundation. I am Chairman of the Yorkshire region of Wooden Spoon, rugby’s charity for children, work with the Princes Trust in Yorkshire and Humberside, and I am a Governor at Gateways School in Harewood, near Leeds.
