I'm Caleb Alexander a fourth-year Mathematics major & Computer Science graduate student at Miami University. Currently, my goal is to find research roles in the tech industry. My thesis research is focused on natural language processing in relation to symbolic AI. More specifically, the core areas that my research focuses on are:- Logic Programming and Knowledge Representation- Natural Language Processing (Both statistical and deterministic methods)- The Semantic Web and CNLs (Controlled Natural Languages).My past experience is in the field of software engineering and cloud engineering. I worked extensively with AWS, Terraform, and Python at JPMC. Furthermore, I used UIPath, Azure, and C# when I worked at TQL. I regard my biggest strengths as the following:- My math undergrad has granted me a familiarity with the methods used in modern AI tools as well as a larger comfortability with analytical thinking.- Past internship experiences have allowed me to strengthen my ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly and effectively.- Because of my research experience I am proficient in synthesizing broader topics into the most important aspects.
