Born in 1978 in Stavanger, the "oil capitol" of Norway and metropolitan center of Jæren, a district known as the pantry of Norway. Grew up with with the majestic nature of Norway and the images of the old norwegian national romantic painters like Thomas Fearnley, Hans Gude and JC Dahl, and the local landscape painters Lars Hertervig and his dramatic landscapes, and Kitty Kielland who painted the peat bogs of Jæren. So with these inspirations I always wanted to capture what was around. This led me to find my way to the camera, and this opened my eyes to photographers like Ansel Adams and Joe Cornish, but also to W. Eugene Smith.
