Digitas is a marketing agency that operates in over 25 countries across six continents and is part of Publicis Media, one of four solution hubs within Publicis Groupe, which is present in over 100 countries and employs nearly 80,000 professionals. I was brought into Digitas to helm and direct all of the enterprise architectural (EA) vision and direction to support the strategies of the organization. It was my utmost priority to oversee and lead the development of an architecture strategy to support required strategic capabilities in conjunction with business and IT leadership. As the leading member of the Media Systems team, I worked hand in hand with the Strategy and Analytics team to fulfill and fully meet the above mission statement. I identified requirements and sponsored initiatives to develop new enterprise services, components, standards, assets, and frameworks required to support Digitas’ business strategy. I evolved the portfolio through innovation to develop platforms for business capability enhancement and competitive advantage; rationalized and approved the plans and roadmaps developed for areas within the Application, Data, and Technology domains. Legacy was suffering from major latency with multi-hour process times in some areas of the solution. I architected and delivered 100% refactor of the legacy solution improving throughput to seconds and minutes across the solution. The refactored solution leveraged the AWS PAAS/SAAS technology stack.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is a global content delivery network (CDN), cybersecurity, and cloud service company. Akamai's Intelligent Edge Platform is one of the world's largest distributed computing platforms. At Akamai, my role was as a leading member of the business analytics team. Created solutions to analyze and present data in a more consumable form. Delivered on analysis, architecture, and full hands-on development of highly scalable data processing solutions on [very] VLDB. Architected and 100% refactor of the legacy solution with major throughput and process improvements and added a fully configurator driven mechanism. Legacy was an 18-hour single-threaded process; NSE 2.0 refactor brought this to, at minimum, a 30-minute asynchronous process capable of supporting multiple requests inclusive of prioritization and metering of the fulfillment requests in flight. Multi-billion row throughput from pipeline dataset to published consumable Refactored the solution leverages specific techniques for Oracle Exadata platform, X-2 and X-4, inclusive of taking advantage of compression schemes, massively parallel processing, and offloading techniques. Implemented a service-oriented solution supporting multiple enterprise-level interfaces. Included implementation of a service broker and system message bus for inter-process communication. Utilization of a rule-based event-driven alert mechanism for state machine management as well as driving inter-process communication. Consumers of the data were many and varied and throughout the refactoring process, fully interacted with them all-inclusive of but not limited to: Invoicing, Enterprise Data Warehouse, client-facing Portal metrics, and individual data scientists consuming these statistical data.

Delivered on Analysis, architecture, and full hands-on development of solutions across several domains inclusive of the Asset Management and Quant groups and externally with vendor management.Portfolio Accounting System (Geneva from Advent Systems). Integration project incorporating multiple bi-directional ETL initiatives in both batch and real-time. Several key datamart interfaces developed inclusive of reconciliation products, Geneva RSL and MS SQL Server, SSIS packages, were delivered inclusive of but not limited to performance, holdings, and transactions interfaces. Handled Decommissioning and Refactoring Initiatives. With Geneva being the electronic book of record, multiple initiatives were underway to migrate mainframe deliverables to the new platform, inclusive of multiple internal and external (client) bi-directional interfaces and feeds. Delivered Municipal Bond Analytics. Architect of the datamart design, data-mining, and integration deliverables inclusive of batch and real-time processes interfacing with both internal and external resources; built out the historical datasets ahead of scheduled production deliverables.

At WMC, I wore many hats, playing technical leadership roles for small teams of cross-discipline contributors, leading the delivery of medium to large complexity applications. I delivered full hands-on development of solutions across several domains, including trading, equity systems, transaction systems, asset allocation, portfolio management, compliance, performance, and attribution. I orchestrated the research and development of a Security Master solution, implementing a new design resulting in WMC having a single security master, which, at the time, was unheard of in the financial industry. This was a large-scale integration project incorporating multiple bi-directional ETL/ELT initiatives in both batch and real-time.
