Over the course of 10+ years, I've built my career on a fascination for human behavior and the innate feeling that systems and processes could and should work better for us. By training, I'm a digital product designer who knows the ins and outs of good interaction and service design and the possibilities of modern software development. If you ask me where I'm at my best, the answer goes beyond digital design to designing how we thrive in our environments—as consumers, employees, designers, children, parents or just plain humans acting within the systems surrounding us. Philosophically, that approach uses design as a way to turn uncertainty and complexity into opportunity—from what we might do and achieve, to who we might become. How do digital services enable us to show up at our best, creating positive impact for ourselves and for others? I've harnessed this curiosity and my obsessive problem-solving skills to dig deep into the complex system problems underlying the question above in consumer tech, health and wellbeing, education, and lately, with a focus on mobility in a climate-conscious future.Outside of work, my inquisitive nature and tenacity tend to get me into bizarre and wonderful situations, likely on never-ending quests for the best hot chocolate at all times of the day or adventurous travels without electricity or running water.
