Manage Natera's R&D team of over 220 people strong. In my role, I was responsible for the R&D budget, strategic decision making, staffing of key personnel, evolving the IP portfolio, and delivery on Natera's product roadmap. I lead all product launches and major product development efforts that involve Panorama, Signatera and Horizon, including spearheading the launch of Natera AI. This included delivering the strategy for Panorama SMART study and key Signatera collaborations. Further, ensured compliance with GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act, and other regulatory requirements. The results were a market cap of over $10b.My team consisted of application scientists, automation engineers, bioinformaticians, data scientists, molecular biologists, production engineers, production reviewers, production support engineers, software engineers, software quality engineers, and program managers.In addition to commercial success, Natera's R&D team also published high profile articles in journals such as Nature and Science and fostered an extensive IP portfolio.

Responsible for the research and development strategy at Natera and the Cloud platform. As a key member of Natera's management team, I plan and execute the company's product plan and drive intellectual property development.Manage more than 120 people with expertise in bioinformatics, statistics, software development, and production operation.

I manage the Statistics Group which along with the Biology Group constitute Research & Development at Natera. In addition to being responsible for algorithm development and data analysis, the Statistics Group also manages the algorithm code base which is several 100k lines of code.I took over management of the group during a critical time in R&D of Natera’s most ambitious project to date, the Non-invasive Prenatal test, Panorama™, which was successfully launched in December 2012, Natera’s first Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) product, which in its second month exceeded the combined volume of other products at the company.My current focus is on Natera’s technology transfer from microarrays to NGS.As a member of Natera’s management team, I attend board meetings and contribute to the company’s strategic direction.

I developed statistical methods and algorithms with applications in genetic analysis. I was a lead researcher and developer of molecular karyotyping technology using microarrays which offers significant advantages over traditional cytogenetic karyotyping, the latter being slow, unreliable and unable of detecting cell-contamination. I was further responsible for the production code of the world’s first non-invasive prenatal test, Natera’s Non-invasive Prenatal Paternity Test.

Structuring and derivatives trading. Development of quantitative trading strategies.Co-managed the Icelandic equity derivatives book. Successfully navigated the book through the fall of the Icelandic banks and the collapse of the Icelandic stock market.

Founded a quantitative trading desk. Developed and traded quant trading strategies in FX and futures. The total portfolio had 1-day risk limit in excess of 2.5 m.EUR (one standard deviation in returns).Traded various assets in the domestic market based on fundamentals. Other tasks included structuring support and risk estimation for other desks.

Primary role was development of applications of Citigroup's Hybrid Probability of Default model to portfolios of cash bonds and to synthetic collateralized debt obligations.

Published several papers in information and estimation theory with applications in wireless communication and noise reduction.

Technical consultant on the national genealogy database project.Designed and implemented a Java client for a SQL query generator.Co-author on US patent 6,578,028 in database technology.

Developed software for use in project management in genetic research.
