Community Governor at Perryfields Infant School

Curriculum:(a) Direct and assist in the development of the curriculum, as identified and negotiated with members of the Faculty Management group and directed by the Head of Faculty, to provide a high quality learning experience. (b) Oversee the development of the curriculum to ensure the course portfolio meets the needs of the market and encourages progression between levels.(c) Liaise with employers and external agencies as appropriate.(d) Contribute to the promotion and marketing of new courses.Staff Support and Development:(e) Assist in the induction, mentoring and development of staff.(f) Continue the development of a culture of creative, reflective practice within the Faculty.Teaching and Learning:(g) Take a lead in the development of systems for the continual improvement of quality on learning programmes.(h) Contribute to the quality assurance processes as required, including carrying out peer observations, supporting peer mentoring and assisting in implementing development plans for courses, staff members etc.Other Responsibilities:(i) Teach an appropriate range of student groups.(j) Act as personal tutor and course leader to students as required.(k) Assist in the selection, induction, support and assessment of students, as required.(l) Organise student placements and visit students as appropriate.(m) Help to ensure equipment and environment are maintained in accordance with College policy and Health & Safety guidelines and legislative requirements.(n) Operate courses within the requirements of curriculum, assessment and examination regulations and in accordance with College or Faculty policy or instructions.(o) Assist in identifying the resource requirements of Further and Higher Education courses/modules.(p) Contribute to the development of resource-based learning materials, as appropriate.
