Hello! With nearly two decades deeply rooted in the professional music ecosystem, my journey commenced with a pivotal signing to Universal Motown Records. This chapter provided a thorough development in songwriting, production, etiquette, and performance, complemented by nationwide tours—an immersive experience into the intricacies of the music industry. After my tenure at the label, I earned a BA in Film with honors from Wayne State University. There I sharpened my project management skills, producing two well-received short films. Simultaneously, I crafted and implemented original music education curriculums while steering the marketing efforts of curated live events, captivating music enthusiasts across Metro Detroit. Five years ago, I teamed up with venture capital firm and accelerator, gener8tor, to take the lead in spearheading a unique accelerator for artists in my hometown of Detroit, MI. In my role as Director of the nationally acclaimed gener8tor Music Detroit accelerator, I have helped distribute $225,000 in grants to 20 talented artists, produced more than 15 local artist-focused events, and provided invaluable career and revenue-generating consulting to over 1000 artists locally, nationally, and globally. My recent focus involves expanding career development resources for under-resourced entrepreneurs across the nation. Collaborating with corporations, government officials, and non-profits, I advocate and strategize for creative economy funding solutions. Drawing on my diverse background in the music industry, production, education, marketing, and business development, my professional mission is to create meaningful opportunities and accessible tools that empower creative entrepreneurs and small businesses, driving them toward increased financial sustainability.
