As developers with 15-years working experience for large Internet companies, Davies and I had our share of PB-level unstructured data management in datacenters, private and public clouds. Being sick and tired of how files were organized, managed and analyzed on the cloud, we decided to build JuiceFS, the next-generation file system for the cloud and the cloud only so data engineers and AI engineers could enjoy their cup of juice while building their apps. JuiceFS was launched in 2018 on almost every public cloud including AWS, Azure, GCP, Digitalocean, Scaleway and more. Since then, dozens of innovator leaders are using JuiceFS in their data and AI platforms, serving mission-critical applications like self-driving model training, recommendation engine, Next-generation Gene Sequencing, and so on. I founded Kungfu Car Wash, a company which provided car-washing service at customers’ parking lots to save customers’ time and make their life easier. At its best time, Kungfu Car Wash was among the top 3 car-washing service providers in China. As the founder & CEO, I brought the business idea to real life, raised the seed and angel round fund, grew and expanded the business to cover the entire Beijing city. The business was later closed in early 2016 because we failed to raise more funds amid the stock market crisis in the second half of 2015. Our competitors also ran out of business later in 2016 .

I was responsible for the growth of Douban’s online ticket business at its early stage. I adopted the growth hacking strategy and practiced it throughout the entire product design, development and operations process and built a data-driven growth model.

Douban Movie, the Chinese IMDB or Rotten Tomato, is the most famous movie rating and review app in China with hundreds of millions of active users rating and writing movie reviews. 1KG.org is an award-winning online social community that aims to facilitate city backpackers in China to find village schools on their trip plan to “Pass, Communicate and Share" their love and support .
