• Technical Expert on all Sandia NM nuclear facilities, this included the Annular Core Research Reactor (ACRR), Gamma Irradiation Facility, Auxiliary Hot Cell Facility, and Sandia Pulse Reactor/Critical Experiments.
• Project lead for the RAZORBACK reactor point kinetics/reactor thermal hydraulics code set.

• Designed and developed an experimental method for determining B-10 composition in shielding samples using fast neutron irradiation.
• Experiments were setup and performed using a DT neutron generator, a pneumatic transport system and HPGe detectors.

• Used MCNPX to design a ground up model for an active interrogation experiment.
• Advanced variance reduction and biasing techniques were required and optimized.

• Mentor: Dr. Timothy Trumbull, Director of RPI’s Reactor Critical Facility (RCF)
• Tested and determined the manufacturing imperfections of BorobondTm for use in radiation shielding designs for Y-12 labs.
• Experiments were performed using RPI’s Reactor Critical Facility (RCF) and compared to MCNP calculations, and a 1-D 2-Speed scoping tool which was coded from scratch in C.

Troy, New York

• Mentor: Dr. Yaron Danon, Director of the RPI Nuclear Engineering Department
• Designed, and built an experimental setup to locate material imperfections and determine the variable attenuation density of radiation shielding samples in a 2-D plane.
• NX 5 modeling, software coding through visual basic and advanced machining techniques were used.

• Probabilistic Risk Assessment for Nuclear Facilities, projects for Nine Mile Point and Hope Creek. Trained in PRA programs such as CAFTA and HRA calculator.
• Analyzed fault trees and cutsets for major plant components and compiled system notebooks cataloging the risks and functions of each of the components.
