Nepal Vocational Qualification System (NVQS) project is a bi-lateral initiative of Government of Nepal and Government of Switzerland in Nepal. The project is contributing to designing and implementing a national qualification system in general and a national vocational qualification system in particular. I am leading a professional team at Project Support Unit of Swisscontact on behalf of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE) is a bi-lateral initiative of Government of Switzerland (represented by SDC) and government of Nepal for introducing Dual VET system popularly known as Apprenticeship in Nepal. The project is implemented by government and I am leading the team at Project Support Unit (PSU) from Helvetas. My key roles are to innovate on approaches and upscale it; commission researches on demand/supply situation on labor market; be focal person for capacity building of stakeholders through national and international back-stoppers; establish functional relations with business/industry owners, associations and professional group; fulfill the requirement of bi-lateral project implementation in Nepal and conduct day-to-day management functions. In addition, I have to contribute for project development; support country office with knowledge generated from the implementation and work for synergies among projects/programs within the organization.

Lalitpur, Nepal

Employment Fund - Skills for Reconstruction (EF-SR) was a (development) response project in aftermath of 2015 Earthquake in Nepal. It was supported by SDC and DFID to contribute and speed up the reconstruction process with earthquake resilient components of individual houses and other infrastructure through on-site training programs on construction skills. This approach later on became a national model of Nepal, and might be useful for any other disaster affected countries. My role as the Team Leader was to pilot the idea from SDC funding and upscale it through DFID support. On management, I was the lead of more than 50 professional staff members (including expatriate staff member) responsible for planning, managing fund, communicating with stakeholders, meeting compliance from government and donor, presenting the model with government and other actors to benefit from its success and capacity building of private sector implementing partners.

UCEP Nepal is a Nepali civil society organization working on technical and vocational education and training (TVET), juvenile justice and child right issues where a team of 100 staff members runs 4 juvenile correctional homes for Government of Nepal, manages Sano Thimi Technical School and delivers projects funded by government of Nepal, bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors and collaborates with I/NGOs in delivering projects in partnership. As the Executive Director of UCEP, I was responsible for overall management functions (planning, monitoring, fund mobilization, human resources, stakeholder management etc.) and fund raising by developing projects/programs. The position was focal for most communication with ministries, authorities and donors.

I joined UCEP as the Program Coordinator responsible for planning, monitoring, implementation of projects and donor coordination at operational level. As the member of senior management team (SMT) and deputy of the organization, I had to contribute on organization level strategy formulation, implementation and planing. In 2012, one of the projects I managed was awarded with Project Excellence Award from IPMA and I was awarded as the Year Project Manager of the Year award. In this position, I managed projects funded/supported by UN agencies, Embassy of Finland, Save the Children, Asian Development Bank and a number of other I/NGOs and government of Nepal. I was Officiating Executive Director during July - October 2013 before my appointment as the Executive Director.
